Dearica Hamby has signed a contract extension with the Sparks
The Los Angeles Sparks announced today that forward Dearica Hamby has signed a contract extension with the team. Hamby, who was acquired by the Sparks in a trade with the Las Vegas Aces in February, has been a key contributor for Los Angeles this season, averaging 13.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
With the addition of Hamby, the Sparks now have one of the most talented rosters in the WNBA. The team also features reigning MVP Nneka Ogwumike, 2021 Defensive Player of the Year Brittney Sykes, and 2020 Rookie of the Year Aaliyah Boston.

The Sparks celebrated Hamby's contract extension with a special ceremony before their game against the Minnesota Lynx on Friday night. Hamby was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a commemorative jersey, and she received a standing ovation from the crowd.
