Jury Reaches Verdict In High Profile Case

Man Convicted of Sending Son to Kill Rapper PnB Rock

Jury Reaches Verdict in High-Profile Case

Trial for Second Suspect Still Pending

Nearly two years after the tragic shooting death of rapper PnB Rock in Los Angeles, a man has been found guilty of sending his teenage son to carry out the killing.

On Wednesday, a jury convicted Augustine Gladney of first-degree murder and conspiracy for his role in the 2022 slaying. Prosecutors alleged that Gladney instructed his 17-year-old son, Corey Walker, to rob and kill PnB Rock during a visit to the Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles restaurant.

Walker, who was also charged with murder, faces a separate trial that is still ongoing. However, a judge has ruled that Walker is not currently competent to stand trial.

The prosecution presented evidence that Gladney had planned the robbery with his son and provided him with a gun. Surveillance footage from the restaurant showed Walker entering the establishment with a hooded sweatshirt and a mask, before shooting PnB Rock multiple times.

In a gripping conclusion, the jury deliberated for four days before returning a verdict of guilty against Gladney. The conviction sends a strong message that those who engage in or facilitate violent crimes will be held accountable for their actions.
