No Damage Following Tuesday Morning Storms

Texas Storms Knock Out Power to Thousands

Dallas County Judge Declares Disaster

Widespread Damage Reported in Joliet

Dallas, TX - Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins declared a disaster declaration Tuesday morning after severe storms hit North Texas, leaving nearly 14,000 people without power. The hardest-hit areas include Joliet, where damage extends from Essington Road eastwards.

According to police, downed trees and branches caused most of the damage in Joliet, blocking roads and causing power outages. Dallas Fire-Rescue Captain Shawn Verma reported that the damage was extensive, with approximately 840 calls for service related to the storm.

Tropical Storm Debby, which brought heavy rainfall to the Southeast earlier in the week, is now moving west and is expected to impact Texas on Tuesday night. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for much of the state.

Residents are urged to stay informed about the storm's progress and take necessary precautions. Power outages may persist for several hours or even days, so it is essential to have emergency supplies on hand.
