Sky's Reese Posts Career-High 25 Pts,
Grabs 16Rebs in 88-87 Win Over Fever
Indiana and Chicago square off again on August 5th
CHICAGO -- Angel Reese scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to help the Chicago Sky defeat the Indiana Fever 88-87 on Friday night. The win snapped the Sky's three-game losing streak and improved their record to 5-8 this season.
In addition to Reese's big night, Candace Parker added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Sky. Kahleah Copper chipped in with 18 points, and Allie Quigley had 15 points.
The Fever were led by Victoria Vivians, who scored 22 points. Aaliyah Boston added 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Destanni Henderson had 16 points.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than seven points. The Sky took a 45-41 lead into halftime, but the Fever came out strong in the second half and took a 60-54 lead with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter.
The Sky fought back, however, and tied the game at 64-64 heading into the fourth quarter. The two teams traded baskets down the stretch, and the Sky eventually took the lead for good on a layup by Reese with 1:09 remaining.
The Fever had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Vivians' three-point attempt came up short.
The Sky will host the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday afternoon.
